Robert Klitzman, M.D., is an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Columbia University in the College of Physicians and Surgeons, and the School of Public Health, and a Research Scientist at the New York State Psychiatric Institute. He is the Director of the Ethics, Policy, and Human Rights Core of the HIV Center, and the Co-Founder of the Center for Bioethics at Columbia. He has written widely about ethical issues concerning genetics, HIV, and other areas in academic journals, as well as the New York Times and other publications. He is currently completing work on an R01 award from the Ethical, Legal, and Social Implications Program of the National Human Genome Research Institute to study â??Views of Privacy of Genetic Information.
